In District Attock, GBTI operates across 12 Union Councils, including Sarwala, Surg Salar, Kamra, Dhaknair, Shamsabad, Bahadur Khan, Ghourghushti, Nortopa, Jalalia, Khagwani, Malik Mala, and Haji Shah. In District Haripur, they serve the communities of Ghazi, Khair Bove, Kotheve, and Qazipur. In District Swabi, their efforts extend to the Union Councils of Batakra, Topi, Maini, and Zarobi. Prime Minister Interest Free Loan Phase I
The Interest-Free Loan Scheme, spearheaded by Ghazi Barotha Taraqiati Idara (GBTI) in partnership with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) – LEED Group, serves as a crucial catalyst for change and economic development among the poorest segments of society, with a special focus on empowering women. With a substantial allocation of Rs. 345.940 million under the Prime Minister’s Interest-Free Loan Scheme, this initiative aims to boost productive economic activities by providing youth with the necessary financial support and access to innovative technology. GBTI’s efforts are concentrated in the most vulnerable areas, including seven Union Councils in District Swabi (Batakra, Kotha, Maini, Zarobi, Marghuz, Topi East, and Topi West) and seven Union Councils in District Haripur (Baka, Dingi, Kotehra, Kundi, Panian, Qazipur, and Serikot). The scheme provides micro-loans directly to those scoring 0-40 on the Poverty Score Card, ensuring that the poorest and most destitute receive the financial resources needed to enhance their incomes, improve their quality of life, and achieve both economic and social empowerment. Through this initiative, GBTI is making significant strides in creating sustainable livelihoods and fostering community development.
Prime Minister Interest Free Loan Phase II
The Interest-Free Loan Scheme, initiated by Ghazi Barotha Taraqiati Idara (GBTI) in collaboration with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) – LEED Group, represents a transformative opportunity for the poorest segments of society, particularly women, in District Abbottabad. Targeting five Union Councils—Abbottabad Central, Bandi Atti Khan, Havelian Urban, Malikpura Urban, and Salhad—this scheme aims to foster economic development by providing productive micro-loans directly to those most in need, identified through a Poverty Score Card rating of 0-40. These loans are designed not only to enhance incomes and improve the quality of life for the poor and destitute but also to empower them economically and socially. The scheme also encourages youth by offering financial support, proper guidance, and access to innovative technology, enabling them to contribute positively to their communities. Importantly, the loan amount, transferred as a grant to community institutions with PPAF’s approval, will establish a permanent fund for future lending. Borrowers are encouraged to repay the loans, fostering a culture of responsibility and sustainability, as the fund will continue to grow and educate borrowers to evolve from being “takers” to “givers,” ensuring long-term community development and financial empowerment.
Microfinance Program
The microfinance program of Ghazi Barotha Taraqiati Idara (GBTI) is a key initiative aimed at combating poverty and fostering economic development in Pakistan’s Mardan, Rawalpindi, and Hazara Divisions. Targeting regions such as Swabi, Attock, Haripur, Abbottabad, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, GBTI focuses on providing essential financial products and support services to local communities.
By facilitating access to tailored credit lines and skills training, GBTI empowers individuals to start or expand income-generating activities. This support is crucial for those looking to enhance their economic opportunities and improve their livelihoods. The program not only addresses immediate financial needs but also contributes to long-term self-reliance and sustainable economic growth.
Through its targeted efforts, GBTI helps to uplift vulnerable populations, enhancing their quality of life while stimulating broader regional economic development. The microfinance initiative thus plays a significant role in creating a positive ripple effect across the regions it serves.
